She has covered stories including the death of Nelson Mandela, the trial of Oscar Pistorius, the Burundi, Ivory Coast and South Sudan conflicts and the terrorist attacks on Kenya’s Garissa University and the Westgate shopping mall. Before moving to SA, she was a London-based defence correspondent with the Telegraph and the Press Association. When not being a news hound, she likes to hang out in the sunshine with her teacher husband, her two toddlers and their enormous Rhodesian Ridgeback, Zapiro.
